A ceramic infrared burner bolted to the side of your Phoenix, running at 12,500 BTU. Infrared works differently from a conventional burner: it radiates intense heat straight up into the meat rather than heating air around it, and it vaporizes dripping juices instantly instead of letting them pool and flare. You get a hard crust on a steak in a fraction of the time — the kind of sear that's hard to reach on the main grid.
The SearMagic grid is reversible anodized aluminum, which heats faster and holds a more uniform temperature than stainless. Ribbed side for sear lines on steaks, chops, burgers and ribs; smooth side for fish, seafood and vegetables. A pull-out drip tray underneath makes cleanup straightforward, and electronic ignition means reliable starts.

Fitment — please read before ordering
This side cooker is designed for the Phoenix SD series: SDBOC, SDBOP, SDSSOC and SDSSOP, plus PFMGBOC, PFMGBOP, PFMGWCN and PFMGWCP models.
It is not listed as compatible with the SDRIV series (SDRIV4LDD or SDRIVDD). It also will not fit older-style PFMGBFAB grills with nu-stone shelves — only current ones with stainless steel shelves. If you're unsure which grill or shelves you have, get in touch before ordering.
